Government-Funded Early Education
In England, eligible families can access Government-funded early education and childcare for children aged 9 months, 2, 3 and 4 years.
At West Walton Nursery School, we offer Government-funded childcare places for eligible children, helping families access high-quality early education while supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing.
The amount of funding available depends on your child’s age and your individual eligibility. Funding can be used towards your child’s eligible nursery sessions, subject to our available sessions and funding arrangements.

- 15 hours of free education and childcare for 2-year-olds (families on certain low-income benefits or children with additional needs).
- 15 hours of free childcare for all 3 and 4-year-olds (universal entitlement).
- 30 hours of free childcare for eligible children between 3 and 4 years (working parents).
- 15 hours of free childcare for eligible children between 9 months to 4 years old (working parents).
